It has a sunroof. I got that from talking to him again. I'm going to see it tomorrow.

Quite frankly, I don't give a damn what it can do compared to an FD. I care what it can do against an FB with 160-170 HP and weighs 2200 lbs.

I had an SA (what you call an FB) once. I think you'll be pleased with the difference.

Imagine a car transmogrifier disguised as a drive-through car wash. In goes the SA and -- set the controls on "Rocket Ship" -- out drives the FD. But try setting it on "Performance GT" and watch every part of your SA get beefed up, better quality; better engineered. A 100% upgrade to each and every part of the car (save perhaps the center console, but even that is 50% better).

The critical driver-car interface--the control surfaces of shifter, seat, pedals and steering wheel--is comparable. You're still in a wonderful cockpit and everything you touch still feels just right.

But the quality is much higher; the steering wheel rim feels better; the shifter is tighter; the pedals better quality; the seat bolsters nicer. The door sill is higher and the instruments more sophisticated; you're more in a cockpit and less in a regular car.

Then you start driving, and the free revving of the engine is the same; the pedals equally light; the steering response and shifting similar. You can still steer with the throttle and wind the engine out until it screams; the exhaust note is much the same, too.

But you can wind it up higher. And O, the higher limits you'll see: Everything happens at higher speeds. If you want to slide the back you have to work harder. If you want to feel like you're speeding you'll have to go much faster. Everything is quieter; more composed; better damped.

If you want to really have fun "at speed," that speed will be much higher and you may jeopardize your license; it's the price of having performance that only supercars used to offer.

Everything about the car is more poised, smoother, more composed.

Drive it and see what you think.

Well, this sounds hopeful. I was just horribly afraid of getting what I call "FC syndrome."
When I bought an FC, in the quest of more power, I ended up buying a crapbox in disguise.
The rotary didn't FEEL like my rotary. The 'cockpit' was too spacey, the drive just didn't feel "RIGHT."

I guess I'll go and test it out tomorrow, unless someone can tell me otherwise (For example: feels more like an FC than an FB/SA22C

Wow, that was surprising!
I LOVED the car. It was almost everything I expected (a bit too roomy for me, but that IS coming from a first gen owner )
I tried talking him down in price, and he said he'd talk to his wife and get back to me this afternoon. I'm crossin' my fingers!

Cool! So ... did I describe it very well, or not? (Just curious.)

He said it has a sunroof. So that means it's a Touring or GT, right? (I'm forgetting whether the Touring has a sunroof or leather.)

Electric Sunroof, rotor cloth interior, CD player, six speed, and all niceness.
Other than the cockpit, yeah, you described it well.

Hmmm. Cloth and sunroof. Touring package, I think.

Oh, and you're welcome. :D (Why does no one say "thank you" anymore? )
