I was wondering if it's even possible, since I know mine lacks in torque and it's pretty much impossible to do with the transmission already. How would this even be done? Has it been done before? I feel like testing this out and recording it!

1) turn off traction control if you even have it by holding dsc button till abs and traction lights both illuminate
2) put the car in neutral
3) put the accelerator to the floor till your bouncing off redline
4) tell your buddy to start recording on his cell phone
5) put the car into gear
6) repeat steps 2-5 if necessary
congratulations you burnt out your transmission. not what you were looking for, but hey something burnt out at least

John, why don't you just ask me these questions. I forgot, do you have an automatic, no. Manual, then yes. Turn off DSC, rev the engine to 3 grand and quickly release the clutch.
Not the final piece of advice, don't do it.

I have the lame 4 speed automatic model, so there's no actual way to do a burnout and control the friction point of the clutch. But I've always been curious about it, because I have managed to throw this car sideways in a abandon parking lot during a rain storm. Although, that was with traction control off!

Am I calling burnouts dangerous to life, limb, and parts? Not directly, no. But add a pinch of stupidity, bad luck, bad timing, or ignorance and then yes, it is. Youtube is full of examples of how one or more of those resulted in injury, death, or damage when applied to something like a burnout.
It just isn't worth it. And thus, it's even less 'worth it' to create a thread about it.

The problem with "silly threads" ... about something that can easily result in injury, death, or severe mechanical damage ... is that they never end well.

Oh well, I'll save the burnouts for my pedal bike:
