Well at least I didn't have to say anything. You made yourself look like a complete retard all on your own. Like it has been said I prefaced it with it being something someone told me AND said it may or may not be accurate. Hopefully this time, the third time, it will reach into that thick skull of yours, and something will trigger an instant 50 point increase in IQ, which will bring you squarely to about 75. Maybe then you'll be able to comprehend this. Cmon little TeamRX8, you can do it...come on boy.

Sometimes it seems the only way to get through to these guys is to fight fire with fire. But you're probably right.

Okay, I live in Vegas, and Magic Mazda has seemed to be pretty good for awhile now, but I haven't been in for some time. My broker has a red RX-8 auto which is also at Magic Mazda apparently one of the many that need new engines. I'm going to call Magic Mazda tomorrow myself and get it straight from the people I deal with there and see what they have to say. I've also got a few people I know over at People's Mazda that may have something interesting to add.

I think one thing alot of you guys need to realize is that Las Vegas has been over 115 degrees every day for the past 2 weeks. We all know that heat breaks down rotary engines. Mine has been running strong other than the occasional dip in RPM's with the AC on at idle. But on that same token I'm fanatical about maintaining and monitoring the fluid levels, belts, tires, etc on my car. 18,000 miles now. Oh and the bad gas mileage in this horrid heat. I'll make the call tomorrow and get back to you guys on this. It may be something specific to this region of RX-8 owners, so just chill out on the guy okay? I don't think many of you guys have 115+ heat daily, and remember the asphault and undercarriage of the car is undoubtedly near 150.

Damn this sucks I hope my rx8 doesn't start acting up on me. My 8 was fine last summer except for the visors kept melting and breaking off. My car is also black with black leather, temperature inside the car read 125 when it was 115 outside. I might drop by the henderson dealership and see what they say.

I see that red 8 all the time. I work at 500 N Rainbow at Southern Fidelity Mortgage. I also drive a red 8, manual however. Are you ever in the office? I usually only see that one red 8.

Mine is a titanium gray...I'm at the office pretty often, but she's the broker so obviously she's there much more often than I am. I usually just stop in occasionally throughout the day.

Most people know mine because I got the Veteran License Plate...with the Marine Corps Seal.

So far no calls from Mazda, no letters in the mail, and nothing listed for my car on the Mazda USA website....

Still waiting to hear what's going on but not worried about it...

It will take a few weeks for the parts to arrive at your dealership. Then they'll send out the notices and they'll do it in batches so that the dealer isn't inundated with cars. They don't want to make a big deal and have people freak out (just look at this Forum to get an idea of that) and take their car in right now and then get pissed that it won't be fixed for upwards of a month. Particularly when, by law, all those people could file lemon law suits and force Mazda to buy their cars back because they spent so much time in the shop.

ok lets sort this out

yes the dealer has a bunch of AT 8s with bad engines that are being swapped out. this engien swap is the current "fix" for the issue which the engineers have not found a permanent solution for. this is not part of any recall.

the lower control arm issue is about to become a Recall adn effects all 2004 rx8s. see the thread in discussions.

the underbody heat damage is unrelated to either of the other 2 issues and has its own recall thread in the issues section.

got it ? any questiosn please ask them in the other ongoing threads in the issues and problems section- but before asking the questions READ THE THREADS FIRST- you question may have already been answered
