yeah i've had that same sound for a year now. i thought it sounded like static coming from that passenger side speaker. i can't remember exactly what my dealer told me but they said it was a normal sound. something like a vent or something that opens with the air flow at those rpms or something. i wasn't sure if i bought what they told me but i figure the cars under warranty and the problems documented now so what the hell.

it is annoying though when you're trying to enjoy the sound of the engine wind out and you hear that instead. let us know if you get some real answers.

 

You're sure this isn't just your exhaust?? When I get the RPM's up the loud raspy sound is the exhaust. But if you're really hearing marbles being shaken in a can, this is something else. Mod you're exhaust and see if it still happens...like we need more excuses.

 

I believe mine is SDAIS

It starts to sound at around mid RPM only when gunning it. its a steady sound, it doesent get louder or anything, and If I let go of the throttle, it shuts up.

If its my SDAIS (Sequential Dynamic Air Intake System ), how do I fix that?

 

Ok, I've got it too. Redlined for the first time (I'm finally just over 2k miles on the car) tonight and it makes a metalic "iron filings in a can" sound. Did it every time I went over 8k RPM's. I wouldn't imagine that it's a sound coming from the intake system but WTFDIK.
Anyway, I think we should do a pole to get a sense of what percentage of cars do this.

 

I have no idea what this sound is but its annoying as all hell. It is not supposed to be there and thats for sure.
