I don't understand. Isn't 7.6 pretty average for this car? I remember Car and Driver getting a very similar time because of the lack of low-end torque. Generally 5-60 times are going to be higher than 0-60 times because you can't (or at least don't) do a clutch dump. Since the 8 needs a 6k launch to get into the 5's for 0-60, 7.6 sounds about right for 5-60.

It's totally average, anyone that thinks they're going to do much better is fooling themselves.

While I'm fairly certain zoom44 was joking, I just want to clear something up. A 5-60 time is basically a "rolling start". It's not intended to be a launch from 6k and then just a time measurement from 5-60. That would be sorta pointless. All cars have slower 5-60 times than 0-60 times because 5-60 is intended to give a good measurement of how quick the car is when you don't do a big launch.

The 8 has a particularly large differential between its 0-60 time (~5.9 seconds) and its 5-60 time (~7.4 seconds) because of the lack of torque at lower rpms.

I see. BTW, what was the "good or worth mentioning" portion of your above post?

Note that I put the word ridiculous in quotation marks and that I DID NOT put dumb in quotation marks. Many of you implied that either the thread was dumb, or I was dumb.
