Posting pictures

How do I post pictures imbedded into the text box here as people have done? I tried to click on "insert image", but it just tells me to enter a URL.

If I use the attachment section at the bottom, it generates thumbnail sizes in which people have to click on it to see them.

I want to know how to imbed the actual picture into the body of the text as many have done so here. Please help?

In order to do that........you will have to have the images stored on a remote serveer somewhere and then use the URL link to include them.
Else, you will need to do what I do and have them as attachments and have people click on. There are free picture hosting sites, but I don't use them and my server(my account on my ISP) is all taken up with surfing pics!

Not many surfers out there but anybody wants to see go here: http://home.cfl.rr.com/dturners/ There are some nice scenery shots as well......IMO.
You'll need a good connection and you may have to hit the "enter" key instead of clicking on the picture(I just had to do that and never had to do so before), so I need to go work on the code. These are from a 2003 trip to Bali, Indonesia and are still up so all my mates from around the world can still see them.

I use photobucket.com and it's the extremely easy. I wanted to be able to post pics without the annoying thumbnails. Full size with clarity. You simply setup your photobucket account, add the photos from your computer (without any resizing) and then copy and paste the image "url" into the message response area and you're done.

Perfect pics everytime....like below.

True dat.
But resize them bro. My digi cam can take pics over 1,000x1,000 pix, hint hint dont crash us man

Oh and BTW with photobucket.us you dont have to use the thumbnails if you use the directlink to image or resize them big pics, like the ones I take if you use their resize option then upload.

IMHO, it's much better manners to insert them via the process at the bottom, and have thumbnails appear inthe post. If anyone wants to see the full image, it's just a click.

If you insert them full size, you're assuming everyone really wants to see the image. Often many times, since there are people who don't do any trimming when they quote a post.

I'm a fan of people using only thumbnails when I'm at work, much safer that way...

When I'm at home I don't really mind either way though...but posting a ginormous lightning yellow in my face doesn't really make me happy either. As long as it's not screaming at my eyes I don't care :D

IMHO, when replying to a thread, that it's better manners to actually answer the person's question, than to assume that people care about what your opinion is.

Foot, Should you have any further questions, just let me know.

I just started using Flickr... When you upload, it automatically saves your original in every size you might want - from avatar to ginormous - then you just click on the size you want, and use that URL. Their "Medium" size seems to be an ok size for posting here.

The question was answered. I figured I would help Footman avoid doing something that could get him flamed in the future.

Another factor against linking is that you're committed to maintaining the linked picture. Upload it and it stays on the forum.

Isn't this forum about helping each other out?
