1. helps lubricate the housings / seals.

2. it's not bad. I yanked it out and put in Infinity Kappa speakers but depending on what kind of music you listen to, it could be adequate.

I think the Bose system is great, but if you like to listen to music with a lot of bass, then I would say it's best to say its alright, but an aftermarket one would be better.

As to Premix, I think you could use any 2 stroke oil from anywhere (NO SYNTHETIC) and put 8oz per full fillup. So if you are at half and raise it to full, put 3-4 oz.

I direct you to the premix thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/gas-oil-premix-thread-99636/
Rotarygod pointed out that in the 2009 RX-8, the new generation, Mazda made modifications to the Renesis to include a 3rd injection port. This can lead one to assume that oil wasn't being delivered evenly across the rotors. What can us 1st gens do to insure the lube of the engine? Premix. The general consensus to the thread was to remember that the engine is already receiving metered oil in amounts set by the ECU, and with that in mind to not overdo it.

Bose has another name in the audiophile world: Blose. The only company with the engineering prowess to use 9 speakers and yet not cover the high or low frequencies. However, to all intents and purposes, it is just fine.

Exactly. If you have an '04-'08, the reliability changes for the '09 tell us to premix.

Oh and dont mind the No Synthetic comments.

It has no bearing in fact.

A premix is a premix is a premix. Not all created equal, but all made to burn. Synthetic or no.

Look for JASO-FC / ISO EGD

Yes, but more like 5-6 oz per fill-up, assuming you have a working OMP

I and many others add 4 oz. per tank of gas. Most use Idemitsu. http://www.idemitsu-usa.com/page_210.htm

Pre-mix is just 2 cycle oil, to give a little more assurance that the seals are well lubricated and thereby reducing their wear and producing optimal compression.

Those racing tend to use more pre-mix.

"Nobody ever got fired for buying Bose." But they are not the most cost effective, nor optimal, audio solution.

thanks for help guys, currently on 107000km's, original engine...dont think the old owner used premix's.

As for the bose, i thought it came with the normal no bass bose speakers, its actually the decent premuim setup. Sounds pretty decent for stock dont see a point getting aftermarket =p.

No highs, no lows, must be bose.

I've seen a spectrum analysis graph of what frequencies Bose speakers put out, and they do a lot of technical wizardry with their amplifiers to cut certain frequencies or combinations of frequencies to reduce distortion. Then, they give you shitty cheap paper cone speakers, which would sound like garbage normally, but with their processing power they manage to make them sound "okay". Throw a little virtual surround processing on there for spatialization and call it a day.

That's how they're in business: for $1000 you get a pretty interesting amplifier that's maybe worth $200 and some paper speakers that are worth under $10 a piece in some nice looking boxes. Huge profit for the company.

People that don't know sound and are used to the speakers built into their TV's and stuff hear a Bose system and are wowed because it broadens the stereo field and has some low frequencies that TV speakers don't try for, and they think it's worth a grand - they've also seen the advertising in National Geographic and whatnot so they think it must be premium ****.

Stores love selling it because it has a higher profit margin than real home theater gear - which still has amazing markups on it. So they don't even try to get you into the regular home theater room, which is ALWAYS separate of the Bose stuff (by agreement to resell the gear), where you might hear speakers that put out a much more linear response.

Oh well....
