Price??

Brand new here, and a very satisfied owner of a Protege ES. Have been considering ordering a 350Z, but my experience with Mazda makes me very interested in the RX8. If the price is comparable to the Nissan, I will probably go that route (the Z, much like myself, seems to be a bit portly!). Does anyone here have a source that has stated the price? Thanks for the help.

Latest estimates put it at 30k loaded, but this could differ from the actual price...

I'm hoping it's right around that price, because I don't think I'd pay more than 32k for this car out the door. There are just too many options at this price range for them to throw a premium price tag on it.

I hear some report that it will start in the high 20's, putting it just above the range of a WRX, but just below the entry level luxury market.

Yea, we have heard 26k starting, 30k loaded from Road and Track's Sam Mitani doing a guesstimation game with the Mazda engineers/staff.

There seems to be a rapid influx of new sports cars from Japan to the US now, and in the next few years; i.e. the RX-8, 350z, STI, EVO, G35, etc. Hopefully, this will keep the prices down, at least after the initial rush for each model passes, and the dealers can't add on to price. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. I am looking to buy in '04 when we pay off the wife's car.
