raising prices

I think they will not do so........least I hope not....I am planning on getting one early spring. I think come January the cars will be more plentiful so the price will stay the same. 2005's don't come out till late summer, early fall anyway....usually. The car is priced great and will open the door for a new market of people.....sports car lovers with kids to tow!!!! They need to keep the pricing where it's at especially since the economy and the car business is hurting!!! I am female also!

A price increase of the 8 from a foreign exchange standpoint would be due to the weakness of the dollar to the yen. Remember that everything is relative in the foreign exchange market and whether the dollar is weaker or stronger vs. the yen can only come from price changes in one or both currencies. Think of it like this:

If the long run projection of the market speculates that yen will appreciate (becomes stronger) relative to the dollar (or the dollar depreciates (becomes weaker) or both) then it now takes more dollars to "buy" a constant amount of yen. Thus, imports from japan (i.e. RX-8s) become relatively more expensive to the US since we are "paying" more dollars for yens. If the yen becomes weaker, then it takes fewer dollars to "buy" a constant amount of yen. Thus, imports from japan are cheaper to the US, and we would be paying less for our 8s. Hope this makes sense.
