'drinks coolant' might mean something very serious... like coolant leaking into the engine... I doubt the flooding had anything to do with it, but either way see the dealer asap on that
Are you over 100k on milage? The engine has a longer warranty than the rest of the car

That it is... but there is not a whole lot else to do but see someone who know what they are doing on an issue like this, if you aren't able to diagnose it.
Since you are under warranty on the engine, it should be fine.... Have them look at it; does not sound like an issue that just a few parts will solve

Just get the problem diagnosed - the problem is called 'water ingression' and is covered for 100k miles......
The cooling fans have possibly quit and overheated the block, you may get charged for a new fan, but the engine should be free.
The dealers all know about the warranty for this, but may play dumb to get you to pay. Don't buy it, see a different dealer.
I had this problem, fixed free (thanks Mazda!) only charge was for new oil and coolant.

or you can spend all of that money to continue to put coolant in and pretend there isn't an issue. the cost of all of that coolant will quickly add up to any diagnostic fee you may have to incur.
