Proper Break in period?

I know this thread is somewhere on this forum but I had a hard time finding it, so I'm sorry to repost but....

I almost have 1K miles on my 8, Should I wait longer before I REALLY start to drive the car, (ie high RPM's and hearing that beautiful beep). Any response will be helpfull!!!

You'd take the manual's suggestion over a bunch of car nuts?

Everyone knows the car nuts will make you do all sorts of tweaky/crazy things which in the end will make you feel better about your engine break-in, which is what counts.

I never trust manuals....car people's advice seems much more fun and interesting

You really hard a hard time searching??? I did a quick search and found tons (keywords: break in). Anyways there was a fellow asking a similar question the other week.

Here's the link ... I posted a number of different break-in techniques.
