Proper technique for spins
So, what's the right way to go about doing a 180 or 360 turn? I know that I'll need to use the parking brake but what's the right sequence of acceleration, braking, turning.... Also, does this put a lot of wear and is therefore bad for the tires and parking break? Does this have to be done on a slippery surface? If it makes any difference, I have the AT. Of course this will all be done in an empty parking lot. Thanks

Be sure to post pictures of your smashed up -8.
Actually, do be careful and be sure that the surface of your parking lot doesn't have any surprises - like a storm grate or something. I messed up the rear suspension of a car a bunch of years ago sliding across a storm drain doing donuts in the snow.

At Summit Point Raceway (WV) they offer different driving classes, teaching controlling slides/spins, high-speed driving, etc. I seem to remember one that mentioned doing 180s too (defensive driving or anti-terrorist something). Maybe one of the raceways in Ohio has similar classes? It's always better to learn the ropes in a controlled environment with an experienced instructor.
