Puddle Lights!!!

Puddle Lights!!!
I see that the Rx8s in Europe Japan etc get the option for Puddle lights(lights that are located under the mirrors and turn on when you open the door) I searched high and low on the internet to see if I could purchase the wiring kit and the lighting kit to install on my U.S. Model. If anyone has any ideas if it is even possible to get or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that Canzoomer has them available on his price sheet list. They aren't cheap. Check www.canzoomer.com and look at the price list. I saw them there before...

could somebody post a picture of these installed and demonstrate how they function? I don't see how LEDs mounted on the side mirrors would light up the ground much with the door open. I'm thinking the door might block the LEDs from lighting up the ground (or puddles) at your feet.

Darkrose, ya thats what has prevented me from buying anything from Canzoomer.. I'm not about to give someone in another country (or even this country) my SS#!
There is a guy who makes a puddle light kit and can sell it to you via paypal or whatever. Drop me a PM if you are interested in the information. (My puddle lights should be here in the next couple of days.. but won't go on until spring)

Rear fog light is located in the "rotor" design under the back bumper (the black cover area).
I still want to get the rear fog light, but I think I'm going to stick w/ OEM on that part. I want to get the switch and rear fog, and well.. use it as a rear fog.
The parts from Derwankel (AFAIK) really are more suited to an additional running light or brake light. (But they sure look like a much easier install)

I've got the parts catalog. We have puddle lights here in Australia. Sorry, but the catalog doesn't break down the mirror housing to include the puddle light details (other than the lamp number).
You'll need to buy whole pre-painted mirrors if you want original Mazda gear.

Just an update. I got the puddle lights and finally got them installed. They are really nice, as Gomez said.. he makes good stuff..
As far as the install.. the tricky bit is getting the mirror glass off, and the inside door panel off.. everything else is fairly straight forward.. and depending on how **** you want to be, you can do like I did and unwrap/rewrap the wiring harness in the mirror with the puddle lamp wires.. (bit cleaner of an install IMHO). I also soldered the wires instead of using the power taps that come in the kit.

Glyphon: If you ever venture out of the Land of Peaches, Pecans, and Peanuts and out to California... beers are on me!
Looks like I'm heading over to the dark side to check these out... thanks again

I'm going to be installed the rear JDM fog light this weekend.. I'll take pictures of the puddle lamps at that time.
One suggestion, get hyperwhite 194 bulbs for them when you do the install. They show up much better at night.
