Pulled the trigger!

I flew out to Richmond, VA expecting the 05' Ti-gray that's been on hold for me to have SOMETHING wrong with it (after all, it was listed @ $17k, by a dealer no less). It checked out and I drove it home.

I think I left Richmond around 4pm EST time, drove straight through until I was about 100m from Chicago, when I slept for 2 hours in a toll-road oasis. Around 12 noon CST today I was back home and showing off the new ride to co-workers, friends, family.

Now I'm going to sleep for 12 hours and go to work tomorrow.

A few side-notes - I'm waiting on my clay bar to arrive (Auto Geek has to have the slowest turnaround ever, UPS says 16th it'll be here - I ordered my Zaino the same night, the 9th, and it arrived 2pm on the 12th). So sometime after the 16th I'll post pix after I detail it.

Don't know what else to say, I'm really tired after driving 1k+miles but it was so worth it...I guess I should change my sig and forum title...eh tomorrow...

'night all...

I use Whitten on the other side of town.

Guess you won't be coming back to Pearson for service ...

Yeah i didn't get the feeling that their service dept was very nice - I tried to get them to courtesy install clear corners for me, after all I did travel halfway across the country to buy this car from them. First they said they wouldn't install the stealth bulbs because they are not Mazda OEM parts. I was like, fine...but then they said they were going to charge me for it...

I told them "screw it" and drove my car off into the horizon. So yeah, not a good impression of their service dept

They probably were figuring that you would NOT be a return customer anyway.

For now, all I'm doing is strakes & clear corners (installed).

Next year sometime I may supercharge, not really sure at this point.

Eh, I thought the salespeople were OK. Granted, I dealt with them mostly over the phone, but Kaled Ali (sp?), my salesguy, didn't balk at picking me up at Richmond Airport and treated me pretty well. The only thing I didn't like is how he pressured me and my loan officer to send him the money before I had even seen the car.

Honestly, it gave me the feeling that he was trying to hide something from me, but the car is perfect, runs great & I'm loving it.

I Dawn-ed it tonight to prep for tomorrow's clay bar/Zaino treatment and put on the strakes. Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday I'll have some time to take pics.
