Purchasing an RX-8, open recall?

I am in the process of purchasing an 04 nordic green 8 with 9,378 miles on it, full mazdaspeed body kit minus spoiler, strakes, nav, grand touring for .... $19500. My question is, the carfax checked out, one owner, no accidents or anything, but there is one recall open for the ball arm joint thing. If I purchase the car, would I be able to get that taken care of asap and have it covered by the warranty that is left on the car (17 months)? Thanks guys, just don't want to get ripped off.

where are you purchasing? that price seems high for an '04 but with the full MS kit and low mileage i guess it's almost justified. that and the color

Sounds good.
The recall is covered by warranty.
Buy it and post pictures so we can welcome you to our cult...

Ask the seller why he never had the recall taken care of. It might give you a sign that he didn't take very good care of it.

Well I know he only drove it between April/May-September...and even then, only on select weekends. He seems pretty legit, when did that recall come out, because if it was within the last 6 months, I could understand, as he hasn't been driving it.

What darkbrew said.

price is not great, but it's worth it if it's in great shape. (& it sounds like an owner that can safely sell at 19.5 firm - or keep if not)

Hmm, so what do you all think that I should think about the recall not being taken care of?
