How loud is your Beeper?

So now I have been game enough to let her spin like she is designed too, I have finally heard the "beeper". I thought it wasn't working at first, but my passenger heard it, and if I concentrate enough, I can hear it too.

Are they all such a pathetic sound, or is mine a dud? More like someone was playing a gameboy or something. (insert limp-wristed smiley here)

I posted on the Aussie section as well, but I thought I would check what y'all have got in the other countries.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Nope - mine is the same. I was at a practice event over the weekend and drove another forum members car, didn't hear his either.

If I am watching the tach, and I know what to listen for, I can hear it. Most of the time, when I am actually concentrating on my driving, I never know it's there.

There have been other threads about making it louder, but I don't know how successful they have been.

does that mean in Australia they are marketed as 2003 models? My beeper is easily audible, with the windows up, the sunroof closed, the stereo down, in 1st - 2nd gears. I'm not sure about higher gears [yet] and with the windows down and sunroof open I haven't heard it in 1st or 2nd, but in those cases I didn't need to hear it I knew where the tach was. It seems maybe a tad softer than would be desired but not terribly so.

Yep, mine is way too quiet. I definitely have to be listening for it to hear it. Wish it could be a little bit louder.

Mine is very quiet also, I have to have the sunroof closed, windows up and stereo muted (or very low) to hear it. Nothing like my friends FC which is very loud, I was hoping for a louder buzzer myself

Re: How loud is your Beeper?

Not loud enough! I can just barely hear it over the exhilarating, incredibly engine sound IF the stereo is off AND I'm listening very carefully for it! I'd certainly be interested in a mod to make it louder.

I heard mine for the first time this morning in third. If I had had the windows open, or the stereo on I would have missed it. I think they need to make it louder.

I can't hear any buzzing above 9000RPM - maybe I have a dead spot in my hearing? Does it come on right at 9000?

A little louder would be better and a shift light at 9000 as well.

I have visited above 8500 rpm a few times, and have not been able to hear any buzzer.

We've got to find a way to make it louder.

Question Question????

Is there a way to make the beep noise at 8500rpm louder???

I remember few months back when the video of that guy from best motoring test drove the '8' at Laguna Seca, and the beep in the video was very audible, almost too loud...was that because it was a prototype???

I want to put extra fear into my passengers, when i am pushing it to 9000rpm and the beep is piercing their ears
