A question.

Well i got an uncle whos giving me his 2005 shinka rx8. well not giving but for a good deal of 10k.

its got 20k miles and everything is in excellent condition.

my question is how much would you price the car with the given year / model / miles around at?

the sad sad part is its auto. yeah =/ its like his only auto car he had so hes selling it. lmao

that and what mods would you guys suggest getting first. I know this is probably been answered like a million times before sorry .

and thanks to whoever responds.

i'd say it'd be around 15-16k private party.

first mod i'd do is to trade it in for a manual.

I guess he said it all. An auto. What a waste!! Mazda should be severly punished for putting autos in Miatas and any RX!

as long as your patient and willing to wait, the sale is a good call. you seem bummed about it being auto too so you might as well switch it.

yup, quite different. The earlier models made much less power, I think 06 and up has a bit more juice but the redline is lower. (half the fun of the RX-8 is screaming up to 9,500 rpm)

Auto is fine. Too much traffic for most people.

Nothing you can do for an Auto except cosmetic mods.

Buy it because it is well taken care of and for the driving fun.

it's completely different. i switched over myself.

maybe part of that has to do with all my mods, but stock for stock was still quite a big change.

Thanks for the input so far guys.

I'm actually borrowing it for a week to "test drive" it. lol
so far im loving it especially this shinka version.
was at a red light today and the guy next to me was like " you got a sexy car " im like thanks =O.

so buying it after just one day of using it.

even though i can see where manual would feel better in the 8.

anyways pics to come soon just for fun.

From my understanding, the auto has a softer suspension, and around 212hp instead of 238, and a lower redline

I have an auto... I love cars but I do not plan on bringing it to the race track and dumping thousands into performance parts. Sure a manual would have been ideal and more can be done with it but I don't regret getting an auto. I love my car and it is hell of a blast to drive!!!! With that said like others just mentioned all of my mods are pretty much cosmetic... I do plan on putting an intake and exhaust on for the hell of it tho. Not for HP gains but for personal enjoyment. I would not be bothered trading it in unless a manual is what you really want.
