question about engines and gas

where does the rx-8 rotary fit in with piston engines? I know that at a set rpm (say 3k) a V6 burns more gas than an I4 and a V8 burns more gas than a V6, right?

where would the renesis fit?

Considering that some RX8 owners are getting the same mpg as a Dodge V8, I would say that the Renesis is not very fuel efficient.

The rotary engine has many wonderful traits. Fuel efficiency is not one of them.
