Question on ignition coils
Hey guys, while replacing my spark plug wires I couldn't get the rearmost wire off the ignition coil so while pulling, the coil came apart on me and pulled off with the wire. It was stuck on there so well I was wondering if it was just all one piece. I had to use liquid wrench in a small amount to break the rubber boot free from the coil.
My question: is it ok to just push the coil back together so I can run the car or should I replace the coil? this is for the trailing plug on the rear rotor.

If you are talking about pushing the coil back together so you can run the car up to the store to buy more coils, then possibly yes. It would just make me very uneasy knowing I had a coil on there that might just pop apart when driving you know? Without opening the case and seeing whats exposed(if anything much) its hard to say, but you never know what could happen it if pops apart while driving.
Like the other guy said, most do replace plugs, wires, and coils at the same time.

I replaced just the plugs by themselves and the contact for the front leading plug was corroded so bad it wouldn't go back together. I had to miss a day of work while new wires came in.
