questions???
I will be getting my 8 in the next 3 to 5 months from now and had a few questions. When i was looking at one in a used dealership they had told me that the insurance company considers an 8 to be a 4dr car instead of a sports car b/c the way the doors open, is this true? Also are the paddle shift on the autos very responsive or should i go ahead and get the manual? Also how much will the 05's sell for once the 06's come in i am looking at spending 20k cash but my parents my finance the rest and help me pay it off if i can get an 05 fairly cheap. I am looking at getting a manual with leather seats and moonroof and colors i like all but white but prefer the black, red, green, and blue.

yep its insured as 4 door sedan, which means relatively lower rates compared to other sports cars.
paddle shift is relatively responsive, but not as good as manual, manual also have higher redline at 9000rpm. brand new 05s can be bought at least 500 below invoice right now.

Where to start...... The insurance will just depend on your provider, dont listen to what a used car salesman has to say call your insurance company and get a quote when the time is closer to buying.
I would recommend the manual over the 04 & 05's the auto has a 4 port rotary wit 197 hp 4 speed automatic, while the manual has a 6 port rotary, 6 speed manual (5 speed available over seas) and 238 hp.
You should be able to find a car in the price range you are looking to spend. Color wise the red and silvers seem to be more popular than the rest so it may be easier to find one of those. Unless you just buy a new 05 after the 06's come out and get a good deal on it.

You'll probably get more enjoyment out of the manual. Go to kbb.com to find price information. I bought my car in September 2004 and paid about $500 below invoice, and several people here were getting much bigger discounts. Once the 06 comes out, I'd set a goal of paying no more than $500 below invoice.
