Questions about speeding ticket
ok so i got a ticket a couple days ago....just looked at the ticket...he wrote 2 door and the time of the ticket does not say AM or PM.....and it looks like he circled between W and T so its not clear on what day....also he did not write down my Approx. Speed, P.F./Max Speed, Veh. Lmt., Safe, Radar, or Laser....is there a way that the ticket is invalid and i could get out of it?

Did he get your name, address and drivers licence number correct? I suspect so since you didn't mention that, in which case you will probably be wasting your time trying to wiggle out of the ticket.
However, if this is your first, or only recent, ticket go to court and fess up. You may get drivers school and no points if you complete the school. If you just pay the fine, you get the points.

Im a cop in Houston, so what im about to say might be useful. First, call the number on the back of the ticket (give it 5 days to process). Second, tell them you cant read the info on the ticket. Finally, if she/he cant read the ticket either, they will dismiss it.

different laws apply to different states. You'd better make sure if you try this route that who ever you talk to has the authority to dismiss the ticket....and get it in writing! Otherwise you'll face failure to appear charges as well. Those can be $800.00 + in some cases.

Like I said, call the number on the ticket. I made a mistake on a ticket which was dismissed later on for that same reason. Failure to appear charges in Houston is a 5 day jail charge. I'd think I'd rather sit n jail than pay 800 bucks.

The way I was always told and always approach it, is that as long as on officer can sit there in court and say "yes, this is the guy that I pulled over and committed the violation" and be 100% sure, then no matter how he spells your name, address (barring any HUGE spelling error), then they will either waive the ticket and write a new one, or the judge will just uphold the ticket.
It has to be something huge, like he wrote a speed on the ticket that he didn't tell you when he pulled you over or totally wrote the wrong name. I got a ticket once and they spelled my last name wrong by one letter. Granted I have a long last name, he still would have showed up in court and said, "look this is him, i made a mistake in spelling his last name, look at his driver's liscence".
Hope this helps, but best of luck...

Stunna: I got off an illegal posession of a firearm wrap in Harris county because the Sheriff's record was not legible. There's a lot to be said for having these guys write up their reports while cruising up and down the 2000 block of Alabama.
Oh and it wasn't like a had a dang bazooka either. I had a 38, it wasn't mine, it was my ex-wife's gf's and they put it in the dang glove box. Wife and I had a tiff in a bar. I went back to the car and she "narc'd" on me. Whole dang thing was a surprise to me. My lawyer said since I was out of the car, parked "off-premises" and the gun was secured in the glovebox of a car registered to my wife; they should have removed the rounds and placed the gun back in the glove-box and given me an *** chewing. Whatever, it was about $800 for an attorney way back in 1982...

On the failure to appear bit...
My daughter failed to pay a speeding ticket on time. It was in New York, and one that could have been mailed in. They just sent a threatening dunning notice and added a modest late fee.
I'll have to warn her about Houston.
