Questions on my New Engine Process
Mazda is replacing my engine at 88,000 now that the coils have burnt out and the compression test failed. They want me to pay 400 for the new coils and wires. Kevin, at Acadiana Mazda, told me that he "recommends" them to be changed. I am also with out a car, obviously.
Question 1: So, do I have to necessarily pay for the new coils? Did they break because of the engine failure to hold compression? Do they really need to changed? (There is some white on them, but just a smidgen)
Question 2: Will Mazda supply me with transportation? They are giving me mixed answers at the moment.
Thanks,

Buy the coils yourself and save some money, mazda's MSRP prices on them are a ripoff. Buy a new clutch and pressure plate too and give it to them to replace.
Mazda MAY give you a loaner. They don't have to outside of the normal warranty, but often they do.

1. no. buy the coils online and give it to them to install it. and yes, sounds like you never changed it so yeah, u need to change it at 88K miles. (its usually 30K or less)

I bet that, if you buy the coils from them, they will loan you any car you want from the lot Otherwise, just face the guy and
Also, that's quite a number of miles you put in that engine without ever changing those coils.
