Quick ?: Does my 07 play MP3 CDs

It's the standard unit, non-Bose. It doesn't say MP3 anywhere on the face but just thought I'd ask before I burnt an MP3 CD.
Thanks

Or if you want to use MP3 CDs, you'll need to buy the factory MP3 player option.

A CD IS LIKE $.02. burning a couple songs and trying has to take less time than posting the question and your "damnit" post.

Yes it will. I've burned an MP3 disc and it plays fine. I've burned them with both itunes and Neo. My car is a GT and has the Bose system. No mp3 option.

if it doesn't say it on the top left of the face it probably is the 6-disc changer unit.

Did I buy an iPod and an iPod adapter for no reason? Our factory Bose with CD changer plays MP3s?? Or is it just a 2007 thing?

CD burner programs can use mp3's as source files for burning "audio" CD's that can be played in any CD player. The resultant disk is not an mp3 disk...and you can tell this because even though the CD allows 800 MB of data to be written to it, it will only allow 80 MB or so of mp3's to be burned if you ask it to burn an audio CD. In other words 75 minutes of music. If you burned those same 80 MB as an mp3 disk it would not be recognized by the car player unless it was an mp3 player specifically.

Personally, I'm sick of juggling 100's of CDs so I'm getting an iPod and iPod hookup ASAP.

OH! hahaha. I see. So I guess Raptor75 and RotaryP7 are just a little confused as to what we mean by MP3 CD, right?

Or can you guys actually put 100 songs on one CD?

you can easily put 250 songs on 1 cd, given that each song is roughly 3mb. in mp3 format. in audio format, you can do about 10. maybe.

Why waste a CD when posting a question creates no waste... and chances are, someone provides an answer relatively quickly? Besides, forum = people ask questions.

I gave it a shot...
The answer is NO. It reads the disc as only having one file but will not play.
