quick question, check engine light?
hey guys, i have a stock 05 6spd. i had just replaced the coils and spark plugs cuz of misfires and then the dealership did a decarb and sparkplug replacement for free... now my car was running fine for about few days.. Now when i accelerate at a high pace at around 4k to 5k rpms my check engine light blinks on and off several times and then it turns off.. would this be my cat going bad cuz of all the extra fuel from the misfire or would it be an O2 sensor? thanks for your time.

sounds like its a ignition problem associated with a blinking CEL
Check the plug wires connection from coil/plug. Replace if necessary (your post doesn't state that you did that)
Check spark plugs
Doubt its your coils
But, you never know you might have gotten a faulty plug or coil. This is where I would start
If you get a CEL that stays then pull the code asap.
Good Luck

let me update u guys, on monday I had multiple codes(P0300, PO301) for misfires in the cylinders.. so took it to dealership and they replaced coil, sparkplug wires and they did a decarb plus replace spark plugs... now I went to autozone and pulled the code again and its P0301 again(cylinder 1 misfire).. I am very pissed off atm so imma call back the dealership and bitch em out.

those ******** at the dealership... can't believe they installed cylinders!
i certainly hope you aren't going to go in all guns-a-blazin on the dealership. just explain the problem and they should fix it. might want to let them know that you are disappointed in the service. mazda really pushes for the dealerships to provide great customer service so most of them will do whatever they can to please you. if they refuse, then i'd say you can let em have it

well duh lol Im just writing verbatim wat the code read. well they said they might have forgotten to reset the misfire timer.. so they did but even after that it still happened.. so they told me bring back the car monday and they will give me free diagnostic and if its something they fucked up they will fix it.

My stock 2006 Shinka hit 90K last week. Today, when leaving work, the check engine light came on as soon as I started her and it stays on solid now. I did my 30 mile commute home, checked the gas cap, will check the air filter, spark plugs, and such tomorrow.
Have there been any recurrent issues with the check engine light? I already have the constant engine coolant light problem. My TPMS has been screwy since this last set of tires I put on. It flashes intermittently, but not in the manner described in resetting it or if the system won't calibrate. I love this car.
Please post what your engine solution is and I will do the same.

...new air filter...fuel injector cleaner and she's running like new again. Took the negative cable off the battery and basically rebooted the electrical system. The TPMS seems to be working again, the check engine light is off, and all is right with Sally again.
No plans for anything other than oil changes and maybe replacing a warped rotor, until she hits 100K, which I estimate will be sometime around our March born-on date!!
Happy driving ya'll!
