R&T Video

Road and Track must have added this video recently because I have seen this story on their web site before and the video wasn't there.

The video shows the author of the story in mag opening the doors and sitting in the back and the front. Very cool!

thanks for the post -- good stuff.

it looks awfully tight getting into the back seat. the guy on the video doen't look too big and he really had to contort to get in and out of there. headroom looked limited too.

On the specs page, it said 0-60 in 6 seconds and the quarter in 14.5. Is that conservative? Do you have to drive this car like the S2000 to get good times out of it? I hope this car can perform better than the stated times.

I think those times and numbers are estimates. I don't think Mazda let them use any testing equipment, he is just guestimating off his wrist watch.

I was watching this video over again and I was wondering how tall Sam (the author & guy in the video) was. I wanted to know how roomy that back seat really is. I emailed Road & Track today and recieved a very prompt response. He is between 5'9" & 5'10".

He fit in it pretty good, so it looks like those back seats are for real adults.

Can I download the video?

The video doesn't play well at all for me. I have a slow dial-up connection the video is very choppy and I can only hear about 10% of the audio. Is there anywhere I can go to just download it and then watch it?

I did see the guy wedge himself into the back seat. Will there be the provision to fold the front seat forward like in regular coupes?

From the pics of the interior, it looks like the front seatbacks do tilt forward for easy access to the rear. One pic shows the seat tilted forward and the other shows a latch on the seat itself (my guess is that it's for the recline/tilt).

Not that I can tell. Try letting it run through choppily, then hitting play again after its done.

Edit - nope, that didn't work. Bah!

type this url in your browser: mms://real.hfnm.com/Caranddriver/200...2ny_rt_rx8.asf
Now windows media player will open in a separate window. Hit the "Pause" butten when it starts to play and wait untill it's completely loaded.
In the separate media player, you can see it when the movie is completely loaded.

Hope it works

Greetz all.

Use "asfrecorder"

The program you want for saving streamed files to your hard disk is asfrecorder

It works on both linux and windows, and I've used it to save copies of all of the RX8 videos I could find.
