I spent a day at the track (Mosport DDT) in my 2010 R3. Perfect. (seats incl.) Both instructors with Porsches (911 & GT3) were very complimentary about my wheels. :)

OP: You can try a small couch pillow against your lower back. When I had a lower back sprain the Recaros were killing me. A couch pillow and leaning the seat farther back made it more tolerable.

I recommend tilting the seats farther back for any long drives. I just did two 6 hr trips last week (Sevenstock ftw!) and I was totally comfortable in the Recaro's after leaning them back a few more degrees then my normal driving position. I'm pretty small though 5'4" and 130lbs.

6'4-1/2 and 300lbs

I have no issues with my recaro's; just need about an inch drop and I'd be golden. Got my hot rod guys hacking up the seat rails for me.

The car is going to be my track car so I wasn't looking for daily comfort; I have a 2013 SHO for that.

Yeah, I think that's what I did.

OOPS; ok let's leave thread so it disappears into the abyss.

This is not so bad, I've seen 9 + years threads pop from the new guys.
Always a good idea to check dates before posting.

I just got my Recaros for my S1 not too long ago and absolutely love them, probably the most comfortable stock seats ive ever sat it and perfect driving position (I'm 5'10"), I know they're not R3 recaros, but close enough lol

*The color of the leather is especially nice too

well, since the thread got resurrected, i'll play too :hahano:

After a few years my opinion actually hasn't changed. The Recaros that come in the R3 are certainly nice, but I can live without them. I find that the regular leather seats in my 40th AE are "firm" and "tight" enough for my tastes.

Would I trade my regular leather seats for the R3 Recaros if somebody wanted a bit more comfortable pair of seats? Absolutely, but I would not go out on a limb to buy a new set of the R3 Recaros.

Been DDing my R3 for 2 years and >30k miles now. 6'2", 175 lbs. Definitely had lower back issues with the Recaros for a long time. I just kind of dealt with it for a while.

Recently though, I realized that I don't really get that pain any more. Not sure what changed or when it happened, but I'm not complaining! I had been thinking of modding a thin pad of memory foam into the seatback, but never got around to it because it seemed like too much trouble. Guess that's one less thing on my list of things to do!

Not gonna say these seats are comfortable per se. There are definitely seats that are just as supportive and a lot more comfortable. The R3 Recaros definitely pinch me around the thighs, which... definitely gets old sometimes. Also, I really wish they went lower! Just an inch or two and I'd easily fit in the car with a helmet!

But yeah, at least I'm not in pain any more. So there's that.

FWIW.

Wow thread resurrection. Well if anyone wants to trade their Recaros for my more comfortable stock leather seats, hit me up!
