R3 Seats - Good for long drives?

yes i searched.

So i know i am getting a 09, that is for sure. What is not for sure is r3 vs GT. I prefer the handling upgrades, i have a navi (garmin) that rocks so that is moot as well.

I know nothing regarding performance seats and had a few Q's.

They look smaller, with less padding. I know they are lighter but will they be comfortable in long drives?

Not sure of anyone know this, but are they power? Lumbar support?

The r3 is great, but i would be pissed if i went for it and hated the seats. If anyone if familiar with the brand that would help also.

Thanks in advance.

Aren't they recaro's. I've heard pretty good things about recaro. And they don't look like full out race seats.

truth is there's one member so far that has a 2nd gen and he has a GT. So no one really knows and its kind of a pointless question. I mean a seat that feels good to me might not feel good to you, so your asking a question that really cant be answered.

i personally always found racing seats more comfortable then "regular" seats in any car.

They're made to hug and support your body in all the right places.

As long as you're not a huge person it should be great.

General disclaimer; -This is not meant to sound rude-

If you want to find out if they are comfortable

Sit on it

Better yet;
Since the R3 is a new model that no one here owns yet . . .
Go buy one
Take a long trip
And then you can be the one answering questions about the seat.

I've test driven an R3, and while it wasn't for very long, I can tell you that the seat was as comfortable as my cloth seats in my 2005 RX-8. For particularly large people, the side bolsters may be in the way.

Nice. That is perfect. I am not a large guy, 5'7" 170, so this should be perfect. Thanks guys, this alleviates many of my concerns.

God this forum has made life so much easier for a pontential buyer.

damn. does anyone know if these recaros are anything different? i mean, i know any a/m racing seat will be expensive - but i'm guessing there will be some mark-up here since they are "designed specifically" for the rx-8...
