The only thing a 17 year old kid with a car like this should be buying is driving school. Echo nt5K.

Congradulations on the 8! Don't let these guys get to you about your age. I bought myself a 92 rx7 for myself when I graduated college (used though, I'm not that old yet). Anyway enjoy the car but I wouldn't put to much into the engine except maybe a cat back and new high flow intake. Anything else would kinda be a waste as your not going to get near what the manual puts out. Spend your money on cosmetics, thats what the chicks care about anyway, right?

Well, if we really must choose between the two choices, I would go with "rice". You just aren't going to go anywhere substantial modding out an auto.

I wouldn't spend too much on the "rice" either.

LOL i love you guys, instead of talking about the car you talk about the age, are you just mad a 'kid' has more than what you have now and more successfull than you? I have an Rx-8, pay $400 a month in insurance, pay for my school, and have lots of money to blow because i have a very good job.... Don't get mad because im 19 and your 27 and you are affording what I have at 18 while you had a hooptie at 18... If your going to talk smack because someone is young and is better off than you after you 'worked so hard' then don't post at all. You should be the 'adult' and shut your mouth. Realistically, your not only proving your a jealous loser, your also showing us all how much of a failure you were at life being in the same position as an 18 year old whilst your 30. I am 19 now, been through a brand new civic, brand new lancer (not evo), and now I am at the beautiful rx-8. By your age I will be pushing a Bently so keep hating. losers.

Kromix, talking like this, whether it's true or not is childish. You may be a very successful 19 year old and that's great, but when you go ahead and accuse people of being jealous and attack them in the exact same way you saw them attack the original poster you contradict your entire post. If you had attempted to defend the poster and try to convince people logically that young kids can earn what they have, I wouldn't be bothering you. But the way you carried out your response really bothered me. Hubris is unbecoming of someone so incredibly successful. Next time you post, think about what you're saying. This forum is a place for sharing information, not for sitting behind your computer where you're omnipotent and blasting other people for something so trivial. Sorry if I sound like a moderator (not that that's a bad thing) but I really cannot stand it when people sit behind their computers and boast about how wonderful their lives are and how everyone else is worthless. Alright I need to end this because I could go on forever and Family Guy is back on. Good night all

Goodnight, tell your buddies on here who are 30 and have miserable lives becuase they have to reply to every single post with "OMG your 18 did mommy buy you it?" to be the example and not the nit-pickers. Yes I will say it again, everytime you say something about being mad an 18 year old has a better car then you at his age, think of the years that have passed, what makes you so mad? Is it becuase you were never that kid with the nice car?

Here i want to say it one more time, since I am the 'child' and I am 'supposed' to have my mommy pay for everything and am 'supposed' to be the baby and cry... Screw you jealous bastards . Go cry somewhere else I have the same car you do yet you were born 20 years before me. Me > You.

Say it with me.
" Yes kromix, you are a more successfull human being than I am that is why I come and flame kids with nice cars on the forums."

I mean read the first post...

18 year old kid gets new car, goes on internet for tips.... "Dewds, should I Buy exterior pimp stuff for it, or should I mod it for speed, I am looking for YOUR help!"

Reply from the big time 'adult': Dude wtf man how did you afford this? Your 18? You have a cosigner? OMG get off of mommys tit omg i hate you I had a 1976 Datsun, OMG this is some kind of joke, well anyways, how much is mom going to give you for the mods?

Hmm who's at fault here... Oh yes the young kid looking for advice......

Uh. When I was 19 I bought my first Porsche, it was a silver 993. At 20, I bought my second porsche, it was a black convertable 993.

Keep talking, you're really impressing me that you can afford a $400/mo payment.

What makes you more special than the other guy with the RX-8? You maturity really reflects upon your age. Besides, no one cares how you pay for your car. The fact is you have one, so be happy and stop ridiculing others who have worked hard to get this car.

Anyway, there's not much one can do to improve the performance on the automatic. Like I said earlier, you can always go nuts and do a V8 swap, like an LS1/4L60E combo, if you want to keep the automatic.

if you think success has anything to do with how much money you make then you still have a lot to learn.

Dear Kromix:

A wise sage once said:

"It is better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

In your case, a keyboard instead of your mouth, but I'm guessing your mouth shoots off the same crapola as well.

Ok, while you may be making money you certainly haven't learned any tact or class, have you little boy?

I had a great job when I was 19 - LEARNING - I was enrolled full time in a Big 10 university, studying to get my business degree, and all the money I made working went to pay for that degree and to also load my bank account if there was anything left after rent, car insurance (I was driiving a 1971 VW Fastback), fuel, food, beer money, and of course the university bills.

I was able to buy myself a 1985 RX-7 as a graduation gift, cash, with the leftovers. After that purchase, I then became a prodigious saver. I also shut up and learned from those older than me and didn't try to be a ***** and tell everyone that wasn't listening how much money I made and how successful I was.

Lose the chip on your shoulder. I could care less how much money you make. I'm the richest guy in the world. I have the lifestyle I want, a gorgeous wife, three kids that make me proud, and enough wealth that I will enjoy a comfortable retirement if/when I decide to do that. At 42 years of age, I could probably afford (as in make the payments on) a car up to about $100,000 in price if my big priority in life was to be ostentatious and show everyone how much money I have (at the expense of building wealth). In Texas they call that "Big Hat, No Cattle". I'm guessing that describes you. How much do you put away each month?

Instead I choose to drive a car that had a sticker price of $33,000, and a lease payment of $372 a month for 48 months. It makes me happy that I can enjoy this much car for this little coin. And I know how hard many people work to afford this. I feel very fortunate with my lot in life.

Life is not about the BLING. People don't judge you on what you have, but on who you are. And so far, your posts have shown a tremedous poverty level of character.

Congrats that you can afford the insurance on your car. What about the payment?

And $40K for what you do as a police officer is about $200K less than the job is worth. Good luck and stay safe KN34.

Police officers, firefighters and teachers are the three most under-compensated jobs in the world. You folks should be paid twice as much as a corporate CEO, considering the value you bring to society.

Wow, I must be a super loser then. I bought my first car at age 31 it was just a 12 year old 626. At age 39 I still cannot afford a car payment.

The blue-green car on the left in the pic below gives away my loser existence.

Anyway, my wisdom on money is that there are too many people here in America who spend more than they have. This doesn't necessarily relate to the original poster whose situation I certainly don't know. I hear this BS every day like Sunday when "a" :-) gf and I checked out the S2000 and she said "why don't you just put it on your credit card? You could buy one for each of us!"

I see too many people who try to impress either others or themselves by having expensive *looking* things (an Audi S4 doesn't turn heads like an RX-8) and consequently they are in debt.

I don't sit here and pass judgement on a 'product of society'. I grew up for 31 years (carless and carefree) in Germany. I've never heard that in Germany someone's electrical or phone service got cancelled because they didn't pay their monthly bill. Common here.

It ain't happen to me. I only take stuff home that I have the $ for.

Living beyond your means makes you a loser. Living within them makes you smart. Learning to understand and accept and enjoy living below your means makes you really smart.

You're a putz, not your a putz, since you don't own the putz. Though when you procreate it will be your putz, so it can still apply in some cases.

Tell me about.. I wish it was that easy. When he posted $400 a month, school, etc etc... AND Then he says we are jealous, I nearly pissed in my pants. Wait until he gets into the real world and see how much other junk he has to pay. I would give him my RX-8 if he could afford just one month of the total bills I have to pay. Money isn't everything... If it was, we would ALL be unsuccessful compare to Bill Gates.
