A BS product. It little by little takes the rubber off your blades and creates a film on the windshield causing chatter or REDUCED visibilty. You'll have to buy new wipers sooner! It also amplifies the sound of the water hitting the glass and created a "halo" around each drop. Its amazing enough people fall for this product to allow them to fund race teams. Just keep the windshield clean and run an old wash mitt thru your blades once a month.

I'm not sure that I would prefer a wiper blade that acts like rain-x, when rain-x can replace having to use them at all.

I honestly dislike having the blades flashing across the windshield, even on the lowest setting. It bothers me. At high wiper speed, it is aggravating. Rain-X removes water from the windshield faster than the blades can, more evenly, and without the annoying wiping part.

Side rant:
It drives me nuts when I see someone with their blades on high in light mist or sitting stopped under an overhang, or something. If they truly need that, then a little TLC would fix the problem. If they don't need it, then how do they just ignore the noise, hypnotizing motion, etc...?

its never had chatter on my windshield. I found that its best not to use wipers if its really raining hard cuz water drops just get blown off the windshield.

Will it create halos, yes if your not going fast enough for the wind to blow the moisture away. However, the rest of what you said is horse **** and you don't have any first hand knowledge of the product other wise you would know better.

Jasoneight, Rain-X changed their formula some time ago (I don't remember when). That test could be using the older formula. I still have/use some of the old.

If this is regarding Rain-X, I've never experienced any of this over many years of use. Great product, works as described if used as instructed.

Rain-X is great, it does what it's meant to do.

I've found that with any glass cleaner the key is to wipe away any residue with a clean towel. All glass cleaners will streak otherwise.

Rain-X does its job when used as directed. Without it wipers on full blast can't deal with a downpour, but with Rain-X it's not a problem. It does work. It does more than just cleaning the glass can do.
