Okay.
Now I'm all hooked on the Wankel engine, rotary madness so much so that I'm already planing on the RX-9 or the new RX-7 later on down the line
The logic of how these thing work and the pure fun of driving the 8 are just so right.
There are some cons but as Mazda [and I wish at least one other car maker would join them] pushes forward there will be more improvements.
And the speed thing I don't really understand unless you are just looking at 0-60 times.
I was entering the highway at about 55 in 3rd and I punched it. There was no speed problems then and it's actually more in line with how people really drive in the “everyday”.
Very nice car indeed.
I want more rotaries!!!

good that you are enjoying your ride. i also agree with your 0-60 comment. but i can see where others might have a problem with it. i dont race, so rx8 not being as fast as a 370 etc doesnt bother me at all. i buy cars for the enjoyment part of it, and not if i can beat so and such . now i am not saying ppl who buy z or other cars dont enjoy them. just saying i love the rx8 enough to over look its weakness.

I love the way the motor in the 8 responds when cornering, it is designed very well for a track car.
I will say though, coming from a 350z, I absolutly loved the torque that the vq motor has, and it doesnt lose its power when the revs climb up there. I am still in love with that VQ35 motor, the response, the sound, the torque, the overall power... But each car has their ups and downs. The RX8 has nothing on the bottom end, which leaves something to be desired, at least IMO, and on the other hand the 350 is a bit raw feeling for most drivers. I honestly liked how the Nissan felt, but I can say that the RX8 is easily a more street suited car. As far as on a track, I would have no doubt that the 350 would fall behind the RX8 though

I could not have expressed this any better.

The RX8 rocks. I take it for granted sometimes. When my dad and uncle talk about what they're going to do to their Corvettes or when I drive my dads I always get the horsepower fever and go start daydreaming what I would do to my RX8 or what car I would sell the RX8 for. But when I test drive other cars they just don't have the soul and character that the RX8 does. Not even close. Even if they're faster they just don't feel as right. They feel less attached. More engineering and less passion. And every car I've driven while being slightly faster has WAY less soul and fun factor than the RX8. Even Corvettes.
RX8 ftw.
RX8 ftw.
