If you are in an environment where you must raise your voice to be heard, you are in a potentially hazardous environment for your hearing. This includes loud music performances (regardless of musical genre), and activities such as operating power tools, driving loud vehicles, or driving with the windows down, etc.

For the rattling in the door with the windows down...try reaching out and touching the plastic on your sideview mirror to keep it from vibrating. That is what is causing the rattling in my driver's side door. Might not be the same problem for you, but worth a try.

Incorrect. You can't hear it as well because you're adding additional sounds. The fact that you have to raise it to 20 means that the other sounds you're hearing is also at a high decibel.
