having the same issue. the way i fixed my problem , is to turn up music volume. but ty for the DIY mbently.

 

if you still have some rattle after adding the material, you may need to pull out the tab on the bottom of the airbag itself. when you pull the airbag out, there is a little metal tab that seems to space the airbag on the wheel. i extended that tab a little bit to also help with the noise and that seemed to have eliminated it completely.
