RB Revi- did I miss something?

I just got my RB Revi intake in yesterday and put it in this afternoon. Only took about 3 hours to do. The only thing is, in the first few steps on the intructions it has me unplug a couple of hoses and a couple of wires from the stock intake. Then in the later steps it has me plug in the wire for the MAF censor but never has me plug in the other 2 hoses or the other wire.... I might be wrong, but it doesnt seem like they would have just installed a couple of pointless things in the old intake, so were those important? can anyone tell me what they were for? Thanks to anyone who can help

the VFAD connector is just zip tied to the MAF connector. 2 hoses? when i did mine I believe they trailed. which we pulled out and capped the VFAD (came with a red cap I think). those unused hoses and wire were just from the VFAD (variable fresh air duct- big *** black thing connected to the intake through that hole in the frame) which you should have taken out.
