Reading these forums makes me sad...

In honor of this thread, I just went out to the garage and shared a hug with my 8. My only problem right now is whether to take the 8 or the Miata to the track on Saturday. Probably the Miata, since it has more appropriate tires for the expected temps. I'll give the 8 an extra hug if that turns out to be the case.

I'm not sure when I'll put mine away. The first salting and the car is done until spring. Ohio is bad for its salted roads. I usually park my 8 from December until March or April, depending on how harsh of a winter we have here in Ohio. Been driving my BMW and my Jetta to work this week. Had to put struts on the Jetta, then I balanced and rotated the tires, and I aligned it. Has a much better ride to it. It's the winter car until I replace the front driveshaft in my BMW. I already can't wait until next spring...sigh..

*******!!
That's definitely true! I go nuts all winter long missing the car, especially since during the last two when I've had it in a storage facility instead of my garage, but love it when I can drive it for the first time after winter.
The car is also getting the transmission fixed for a second time for popping out of gear. I hope this time it's fixed for good. The first time lasted 2 years. They didn't replace components at that time, but just cleaned up some sloppiness and missing clips (which they found in the transmission case!).

It also helps that my daily driver is no slouch in the "fun to drive" department, too, although it's significantly less so with the squishy X-Ice Xi3 winter tires on it. That 3 is really fun to drive for what it is, and has surprisingly little understeer with proper performance tires on it in the summer.
