Poor visibility but very comfotable. Three of us went 900 miles PA to FL and return 900 miles. My wife actually liked it in the back since she tends to get motion sickness the limited visibility helps her. My son is 5'10" he spent the most time in the back and he was comfortable.

My friend who is like 6'4" and 280 sat in the passenger seat but had to keep it forward and not so reclined so that our friend who is 'bout 5'11" and 210 lbs or so could fit in the back seat with enough foot/leg room. Though our back seat passenger slept for most of the trip, he commented later that it sucked! However, I think the problem is that there is not enough room for the feet and knees when you have a big person in the front seat. 2 suitcases and a large dufflebag occupied the trunk and overflow backpacks/luggage in the seat behind me. My 8 drove great even loaded, and we all survived just fine. I can't imagine making such a trip in another sports car - glad I had my 8.
Well of course it would suck for a 9hr drive.. that must be torture.... I wouldnt reccomend the 8 for back seat passengers on a long road trip.... The 8 is comfortable when sitting properly and not like a slob.... but can you do that for 9 hrs? Hell no.

when your in a car that long, sitting like a slob (all lounged out) would be most comfy

The thing is, 9 hours in any car (most at least) is not going to be nice either way. The RX8 for what it is, a sports car, does a HECK of a job with the rear seats. The rear doorlits and rear seat comfort was a big selling point for me and have seen confirmed that they are very comfy and roomy (knees and not so much feet).

9 hours is pushing it in regards to comfort, but normally and in short to mid distance trips the RX8 does a HECK of a job. For a car that looks kinda small on the outside...you would never expect that type of room in the rear seats.

Again, only the GTO has more room in the rear seats but with 2 less doors it's a little harder to get in and out of. Remember the F-Car's....Camaro & Firebird....now those rear seats SUCK! The RX8's rear seats....being a lighter and smaller car, put those rear seats in the F-Car to shame...BIG TIME SHAME!

Go take a test drive and sit back there....you will see...
