Recall Confirmation
Just picked up my car from teh stealership. They claimed to have done the recall, but there was a little thing that they forgot to do, so it is possible to check in the car if they reflashed the ECU and did the other stuff?

Call the service mgr at the dealership you went to. Don't act like me. You should be fine.

My dealership forgot to put the engine cover back on. Called the next day. 3 weeks later, still no engine cover.
Anyway, Id also like to know the answer to the original question. I bought a new, but leftover 8 so it had sat for a while. The dealership should have a service history on the car, correct?

Question: I keep on reading that you get a free top off of gas when you bring in your car. Yet, after reading the recall letter, no-where does it state that they will do this. Is this an assumption, because we 8 owners will get the "white glove" treatment? Let me know, because I have an appointment to drop off tomorrow morning. I plan to ask for my old plugs, when they swap them, because they only have 8K after 1 yr of ownership...

The instructions that MNAO sent to the dealerships regarding the recall told them to top of the tank and wash the car if I remember correctly. We just happen to know what that letter said, though they dont mention those services in the recall letter sent out to us.
If they dont put anything about the PCM or reflash, does that mean they just didnt use the code for it or forgot to do it? Cause I noticed later on after I got my car back from recall it didnt mention that... so I started wondering but wasnt too worried...

Yeah, and the Mazda 3 sitting in my garage isn't exactly a CX-7, either. But it's still a set of wheels. If I get a new engine (likely), it's worth a few gallons of my gas.
AND... I washed it before I took it in; easier to see damages upon pickup. They better not wash it again!

i will never let a dealership wash my car. i worked as a porter in one before and its just not a good idea.
When i buy my next new car i will order it and specify and have it written in the contract that i am to be notified the day the truck arrives with it and the dealership is to do no prep before i personally inspect it.
A free tank of gas on there other hand would be nice.

you probably wont be able to. The electronic service record of your car (by vin) should have denoted everything, like this recall, that was done to your car at a dealership since you bought it.
just go back to the dealership and bitch...nicely. Find the letter from MNAO that specifies gas and a wash and print it and take it with you though.

I love Mazda's service.
Their obviously not happy being the 3rd worst car manufacturer for services they are shooting for number one in poor service. Way to go guys.
My car goes in for some issue tomorrow and I asked for the engine recall to be done seeing that the dealership is 15 miles from my house. They are already giving me grieve about not being able to do it before I have the letter.
