A little different from what you were saying but I think we both agree that dropping a bunch on boltons for the RX-8 is silly.
I said my world is different from yours because my import makes a lot of power with basic mods...

Part of the reason you gain alot from mods is your turbo though ike.
Hey, I bought a 2 dollar squid from the fish store and gained 30HP in my 8. I don't know what you're talking about.

Off the top of my head, my performance upgrade order:
1. Highflow Cat (done)
2. Stainless Brake Lines (done)
3. Sway Bars (done)
4. Strut Braces (done)
5. Cat Back (done)
6. Coilovers
7. Wider wheels/tires
8. Radiator
9. Gauges
10. Clutch/Flywheel
11. Supercharger
I think the important thing is identifying where you want to go with the car and what you want it to do. I want a car that can run HPDE events but also be a daily driver. I also want forced induction. I'm leaving the SC for last because I see every other upgrade to be beneficial for me running at the track in the mean time or as something I would need before I go to FI. I do not want to go FI, then have to get a clutch because the OEM isn't up to task, then have to get a radiator because the car can't take track days, then get wider wheels/tires because the OEM wheels can't keep traction...you get the picture.

Order of upgrades...not strickly performance, right???
1. clear corners
2. RP short shifter
3. Voodoo Magnum Pearl shift ****
...
and go from there, these mods aren't expensive and make a world of difference.

Early RX8 Adopter
First mod should be sway bars... Oh and weld some bigger exhaust tips, I think it was Tamas that did that upgrade and it look pretty good. Again, it depends on your budget. If you've got the cash and you want more power, forget intake, exhaust, pullies, etc. Just go straight to turbo and then upgrade the exhaust. Yeah but def get some sways, it will drastically improve your handling.
