Redline the car
Everybody says that at least once a day you must redline the car and i fully agree with that. What if you are daily drive is in towh where you get into trafic jams. Can you redline the car when is parked or you have to be in the move 2nd or 3rd gear.obviously you need a litle space in the road to be able to redline the 8.

Where I live theres never a cop around when you need one so I red line down the street then turn off and make my way home.
See if you can find a spot check it out a few times then make your pass.
You get busted its all on you bub

stop flooding ur engines
onramps are your friend. come to a full stop if its safe, then rip it all the way to 80 to merge in with traffic....94mph is 9500 in third so thats three ful gears u can run thru for good reason.....or autox or track day it, great ways to blo out the carbon....i do those too!

Also, I hope it's not a manual. Getting caught in traffic every day with an MT is absolute hell.

Ya, try NYC (esp. Holland / Lincoln Tunnel at rush hour).. I drive my car to work every now and then to Manhattan... but then again the tourists and locals love seeing this car, so its worth it! I notice my exhausts get filled with soot from too much idling though. Even with all this traffic though, there's plenty of chances to redline, even if for a 5 car-length dash

nah...its just a metter of getting used to. Im usually sititng in bumper to bumper traffic in the morning going to work and i dont find manual trans. a problem at all. Just give enough distance between yourself and the car in front and you shouldnt have to shift that much.
As for redlining, i do it whenever i can. I know the roads around my area pretty well and theres barely any troopers there anytime of the day. Once in the morning and once in the after noon at the least.

In situation where I can't redline, I just shift at 5k rpm. I remember watching the video where it show the internal of the engine when it's spinning the carbon sweeper (don't know what the tech term for it) on the apex of the rotor comes out at about 3700 rmp, I think. ???

If your in neutral there is no load on the motor so it spins up easier and I dont think it burns off the carbon as well as under and accelerated load on the motor. I may be wrong but I know its a hell of a lot more fun than doing it in neutral.

it burns up the carbon that gets stuck in the engine. rotary engines are not that efficient in burning gas, hence the bad gas mileage, and a lot of extra gas stays in the engine. this buildup, called carbon buildup, eventually gets large enough to snag the apex seal, or do other horribly bad things to your engine. redlining it once a day puts enough pressure on the motor to clear out most unburned carbon in the engine.
