Had this same damn problem......tried for an hour until I figured out you have to drive around and warm up the engine and you push it back and it will pop right up

What happens when you try and the rubber hose isn't warm it won't budge at all!

I just put my **** on it, and it pops right off!! Hahahahah

But yeah, just push really hard on the accordion, and it'll come out. All the stuff on the air box is pretty beefy, so you don't have to worry much about it breaking.

OP I think you're a troll. You start a new thread for every f*cking question you have. Why don't you go back to all of your shitty threads that you started, and look at some of the info that members here have posted for you, and try reading it.
You always say you search. I call bullshit.

The point is that these answers have already been discussed so many times already, its dumb to make a new thread for a question thats already been answered..

Just admit to yourself that youre lazy and dont want to do and actual real work looking for answers.

Believe me, I try not to post. But when you ask a stupid question that HAS been asked and ANSWERED many times before, it gets annoying.
You're lazy. You want to be spoon fed. Why don't you try reading the forum? Have you even clicked the FAQ's?

FYI you may get answers to your questions, but they aren't always right. Why don't you try researching your car so that you don't break it? Answering your own questions by searching will be more helpful to you in the long-run

This doesn't seem like a stupid question to me. The owner's manual just says something like undo the clips and open it up. Nothing about having to shove the box back and lift it up.

But I agree with RX8Soldier's point that it's better to first search rather than ask. Search and you'll turn up what a lof of people have said, and you can figure out who makes sense. Ask and you'll get the opinions of only those who choose to answer on that day. And half of those might say "Use canola oil and a piece of rebar."

The key to changing the air filter is to find Expo1's video.

What I did to remove airbox after failing despite following guidelines on this forum:

1. Remove the engine cover
2. Loosen screw on accordion tube at end of airbox
3. Push the back of airbox towards the back of car to pop off front 2 hook (whateva u call it)
4. Move to the side of the car and lift up one side of the back of the airbox to pop off another hook under the airbox
5. Lift up on the final spot to unhook
6. Push back real hard on the airbox to lift the front protusion to clear the tiny black hose for the VFAD
7. Trim away that piece of plastic holder for the hose
