Replacing non-HID low beams

Just got some Silverstars. Now, owners manual says to go in from behind removing the plastic guard in the front wheel wells(without removing wheels) to get to the low beams. Easier said than done. Does anyone know an easier method, like from within the engine compartment and if so what needs to be removed to get to them that way. In other words, I am looking for an easy D-I-Y method without having to take off the front wheels to do it. l

Actually, it's not too bad going from the wheel well cover. I did mine last weekend. Just take out all the screws from the top panel portion and you're all set. I didn't remove my wheels, but I did have to turn them from all the way left to all the way right in order to get to a few screws.
