Rev limited Japanese Spec RX8
Hello everyone,
I just signed up this morning. I live in Jamaica and have owned a 2005 RX8 (Red, MT, leather, sun roof) for the past 2 years. I bought it directly from Japan, so it has the Japanese spec - i.e. rev limited to 5,500 rpm in 5th & 6th gears.
1) Does anyone know how I can remove this limiter?
2) I need a new oxygen sensor and have checked the Internet (the local Mazda dealer does not support the RX8) . I see ads for 1 wire, 2 wire, 3 wire, 4 wire sensors. Which one should I purchase?

HKS also do a speed limit remover DMRH, i just had mine installed today, Have not seen if it works yet, my drive home i would luck to get over 80k lol. It used to cut out at 187kmh, from memory 4th would only be just going so i guess 7k rpm.
I am 99% sure that the speed limit restriction is the only one C4... Just a hunch as to what is wrong but could the computer be detecting something wrong and cutting the power at that revs. Because if it carried on it might break.

You are correct. This rev limit corresponds to 180 kph, and also applies to the Evos and WRXs that come here direct from Japan.
I'll check on the sites sugested for the fixes.
Thanks for the assistance
