right rear wheel squeak?
I hope double-posting isn't again the rules!! But it's hard to get love in the tech section - not many people look there unless they have a problem!!
Anyway - can anyone else help me diagnose the right rear squeak please?
--
so at low speeds, i can hear a squeaking from my right rear tire area. any ideas?
i say at low speeds...it may be there at high speeds but i just can't hear it b/c of wind/road noise. i searched a bit and saw that we could have squeaky brakes, but could that only happen to one side? it definitely seems tied to the wheel, b/c i can hear the noise with the tire rotation, like it squeaks methodically/rhythmically.
i have rb sways, and i haven't re-greased them since i got them about 2 years ago. i also need new tires, if that means anything. a tad over 60k, but last check up a few months ago said brakes were fine (with regard to wear).
any thoughts or ideas to check out would be very helpful. the sound is only a tad bit annoying...i mostly just don't want to keep driving if i'm doing damage to something. thanks.

so this might be it?? i guess i'll jack the car up tonight and see if i can rock the wheel at all.
i may have noticed a bit of steering wander, but blew it off b/c the car tracks in grooved pavement sometimes. but damn, this could get expensive!

point is i'd prefer to avoid having to take it to the shop, for money reasons and annoyance reasons. but maybe i'll have to...

i forgot about this thread!!
so after i got new wheels mine stopped squeaking. turns out, i only had 2 lugs in that wheel!! wtf i know. i thought the tech at discount tire was f-cking with me. so i don't know if someone sabataged my wheel ha ha or what, but 3 lugs just fell out. i couldn't remember who was the last person to remove that wheel (shop, mazda, me, etc.). anyway, scare to think my wheel could have flown off. luckily i heard the squeak and had ordered my new wheels so it didn't last long.
probably not what's going on with other posters, but check your lugs, ha ha. i guess my tire was very slightly rocking side to side causing the noise. couldn't feel anything in straights or turns though.

I seem to have this problem as well, but am unsure whether it might be my pads. I remember a long while ago where my wheel wasn't completely screwed on tight and it took a visit to the dealership to discover it. I think I was riding on it for about a week back then, but I don't think I experienced this squeak at the time until I put on new pads later, hence my confusion. (being performance pads that I know squeak at low speeds) Adding to that confusion; when I hear it, I can make it stop when applying my e-brake.
After a while, I realized the hub spacer thingy in my aftermarket wheel from the rear right seemed to come out rather easily compared to the other wheels (I swap wheels with the seasons). I always have to put the spacer back in the wheel and snap the wire fastener back in when swapping wheels. I have never experienced any shimmy or shudder under braking; just this annoying pulsating squeak at low speeds (especially when coasting).
I will follow up after I replace my rotors and pads this weekend or so. (going back to OEM)
