RIP my rx8
Hey everyone, I got into an accident early Sunday morning. I was coming home from a long drive and I started to get sleepy. I was about 4 min. away from my house on a 2 lane highway. I closed my eyes, opened them to find a car right in front of me. I hit it, hard, maybe going at least 40 to 50mph. Came to find that the car was empty so no one was hurt. I learned that the car was out of gas, and was left sitting on my lane of the road. I did not swerve to the middle divide or to the right of the highway. Hazards were not blinking on that car. I know I am at fault for dozing off, but isn't there a law about leaving a car in the middle of the freakin road?! They couldn't push the damn thing to the side!??! anyway, i just learned my car can't be saved... so i just want to thank everyone for all info. about this car even though I don't post much i do read a lot of the threads. i don't know what car i'll get in place of the 8 but im going to miss her.. a lot.

Wow that sucks, ******** leaving cars on the highway, wtf is that?
Even if you weren't sleeping, it's still a massive hazard, especially if it's on a highway like i95 here, where it's partially unlit and really hard to see at night

Being in panic mode i already spilled the beans to the cop that i dozed off... I'm sure its already in the report. Thanks for watching out for me though I appreciate it. Oh yeah, another thing that sucks is I special ordered some rims about 3 n a half months ago that are due to arrive the end of this month... and no car to put them on now. Rota D2 royal gold, 18x9 +20 offset. What car do you guys think these would look nice on other than an 8 if i decide not to get another one...?

That's the thing yet, I don't know how much they are giving back and for what. I do have the stock parts still if that would make any difference in the money I get back. After this whole thing is over, and if I still have left over parts I'll make sure to sell em' here.

Yes the 8 is very good at keeping drivers safe! Even my dad was saying that was a good car because even though that kind of crash, a lot of it stayed intact and strong. I'll show the pics tomorrow when I see the car for the last time.. this isn't the first accident in this car and each time it kept me from having any kind of serious injury, especially this last one. Its pretty amazing.

get another 8. Shame for sleeping, but I still think that you can get full fault on the owner of the other vehicle.
Good thing you are safe, and next time will sleep in your car.
