2 Issues:

1. My Check engine light is on.

At 1st it was because of my BOV, when i had the Greddy BOV it came on right off thet bat. My car would idle weird as hell. but when i got the HSK Bov, all the issues were gone, and no more check engine light. But...... it just came on again. Im going to get it tested to see what it could be.

2. When Im driving, its perfect, but, sometimes, on 1st or on 2nd gear, when I floor it, it has a Grinding sound to it. It scares me. it sounds like my clutch isnt in the gear, but my foot is completley off of the clutch. Anybody know what this might be? it only does it at a higher RPM (not redline) it does it around....... i dont know, i wanna say. like 5k rpm.

any thoughts?

thanks

If it's only happening in the 5-7k range, and it sounds like grinding or crunching, I would immediately stop boosting and get it tuned.

yeah, Brand new turbo.
and it only does that Grind SOMETIMES. not all the time. its weird...... I THINK it might be when its cold only though. (Not that I push it when its cold, but I might have been in a rush when it happened.) and yes, I am going to get it tuned very soon. Im not 100% worried about the tune since I got an e-manage Ultimate on the kit. but Im waiting on my B&B Race pipe to arrive so i can install it and then get the tune going.

when i hear that sound (its only happened twice) I clutch it real quick and shift gears to get a lower rpm and it shuts up.

like I said, its only happened twice, but I want to make sure everything is ok.
thanks guys.

I would love to go FI but I'm not sure if the benefits would outweigh the headaches. Bummer to hear you're having 'issues' with your Turbo Romeo, hope you get it figured out.

well, the e-man Ultimate SHOULD be sufficient for a month or so w/o a tune, or so ive heard.

but like I said, i cant tune it yet, till i get my B&B racing pipe. and im not pushing it to 10k. Im driving to 4 or 5k only.

it only has to detonate once for your engine to need replacing. You might luck out, but even if it's fine now, you could have weakened a seal which will break in a few thousand miles down the road.

do not take this lightly.

A racepipe isn't going to make a lot of difference in your tune. But if you think waiting for a $200 part is worth screwing up your engine over knock yourself out and keep waiting.

the tune is about $300.
Im waiting on a $200 part.

I dont think it would be smart to Tune$300, then get the part $200, then re-tune with the UEGO Conroller installed $300. when i can just wait a few and get it all done at once.

I forgot to mention the UEGO Controller I guess. I got this o2 sensor the same time i got the turbo. but I wasnt able to install it becuse the pipe were i went to get it welded on is cast-iron. So I ordered this pipe to have the os sensor welded onto that. That should help me tune as well.
