Rotary CD-ROM on loan from dealer!!
I stopped by my dealer this morning to pick up a copy of the accessories brochure. My salesman was not there so I spoke with the sales manager. He was such a cool guy. He found that my car did have a VIN so I was able to get that info. He was very knowledgable regarding the rotary engine as well as RX-7's.
The cool part of my visit was when he loaned me this cool CD-ROM to look at. It is called Mazda-RENESIS Rotary Engine Design and Technology. He explained that it is training material that is going to be shown to all Mazda employees. It is very nifty! Now if I didn't have to return it.....

ISO image available
I received a copy of this same CD-ROM from my dealer today.
The full title is 2004 Mazda RX-8 Technical Highlights, and the part number is as per Fubar's previous post. Here's a shot of the cover:
I've ripped an ISO image of it, and put it on my FTP server:
Address: ftp.snikte.net
User: RX8
Password: renesis
Because it's so large, I've limited the account to only two concurrent logins so that the bandwidth doesn't get split a dozen ways from Sunday - I only have 384kb/s upstream, so it'll take a while no matter how fast your downstream connection is. Please get in, get the file, and get out so the next bloke can have a go. If you have a modem connection, please don't even bother - you'll be there all week!
If somebody with more bandwidth would care to host a mirror, PM me and I'll set you up with a separate account so you can grab it without waiting.

FYI, I've put up a zipped version as well. Although it only compresses by 4%, that's still 23MB less to transfer, so it helps! I'm also in the process of creating a .rar version; if that winds up any smaller than the .zip, I'll put it up as well.

RAR archive available
Well the .rar achive turned out to be 583MB - a very worthwhile saving of 47MB - so I've put it up there, too.
Since most everyone can read either zip or rar, I'll pull the .iso image once the current users have finished downloading it.

Bittorrent looks interesting, but I'm wary of installing new technologies on my server. I might tinker with it this weekend though.
Meanwhile, folks who have already started downloading the .iso, relax. All three versions are there, and will remain until I need the space.
If you haven't already started, and you can handle RAR archives, go for the .rar; if you can't handle .rar, get the .zip; if you have already gotten past the first 20-odd MB of the .iso, stick with the .iso.

Well....just did some digging on the proper commands (excuse my ignorance for all of you FTP wizards), connected to the server, put my username in, and got a message that there were too many users connected. 421 to be exact.
Guess I'll try tomorrow.

In your Internet browser (i.e. I.E. or Netscape), type ftp://ftp.snikte.net
When that window opens. Do a right click and select login as:
Type in the user name of RX8, with the password of renesis.
It will try to authenticate the user name and password. IF you get in, you'll see the three files. Right click and do a copy. Browse out to path on your computer where you want the file to be copied and do a paste. Should start transfering the file.
