I'm talking about the consistency of both the temperature which is low compared to the other cars.

Sorry forgot to quote: terrypk1 post... :-)

By the way the gear ratio of the RX-8 didn't match the Tsukuba circuit so no point in comparing between the Type R performance there.

well it was fairly stable compare to other cars but once they put on the plates, it is not stable at all. the car just heats up like in an ovan.
how do you know that whether the gear ration fits or not?
i am just curious.

I don't remember that video, I do remember the Mazdaspeed rx8 always clocked in at the high 1'08 at the time trials and the type r doing somewhere between 1'09 1'10.

Tsuchiya (sp) and gan san both commented how the gear ratios were too long an was not suited for the track. That's just a subjective opinion though, but I got most of the BMI videos and the MS rx8 came on top of the dc5r everytime.

terry
so you are not really a troll, thats good! I can admit when I'm wrong.
They way you worded your post was suspicious, esp the 03 part, becuase 03 wasn't a model year. I know it was built in 03 but its on the American time scale, blah blah blah, so its an 04. I'm in the same boat.

the big problem which i just realized is that i thought that the rx8 sucks because i just compared the numbers. i didn't get a good chance to drive any good car like S2000 and 350Z. the best i ever dirven was a STi. that was a thrill to drive put a big price to pay.
I test drove a "good car" 350z and also rode as a passenger in one. I am a fan of the Z-car as was seriously thinking about getting one. Yeah its a fast car has more torque but has a rougher ride, no space, an a Altima-like interior.

Haven't driven the S2000, but to me I wouldn't compare it with the 8 since its a convertable.

yeah that would be like heaven if i live in washington. but hay, vancouver is one of the best place for drag racing(which sucks N2O V8)

so when is the next meeting in washington, i am definetaly coming.
i miss my brother so much. he is in university now. if he was here, i could have learned it all from him.

Totally agree with you about the license plate thing but it could be mounted higher to solve that problem. As for the gear ratio thing, it was on another episode of BMI Rotary Reborn, they had the race on Tsukuba circuit with Skyline Coupe, S2K, DC5 ... and Takuya was talking about the gear ratio not matching that track. On BMI Factory Fighters, the MPS version with the different final gear was also criticised regarding the gear ratio.

When i said Hymee enhanced, i was referring to Hymee from australia, a member here who is in the process of making a supercharger for the 8. Look at the F/I forum for other such projects.

yeah the RX8 feels like your arms and legs, but the integra also gives me the same feel and it has more acceleration in fourth and fifth gear. i didn't choose it for it was FF. STi has too much understeer.
i guess the RX8 are pretty good for its' price. sorry my bitching.
I don't know about the RSX-S giving the same feel as the Rx8, although the RSX-S handles well, it just doesn't give the same comfort or confidence in corners as does the Rx8. Whenever I drive my RSX, I avoid high RPMs because it's just so damn loud and ricey. OTOH, with my Rx8, I find myself driving around at 90mph in 4th gear and not noticing it until I looked down to see the RPM being so high. It's all because the rotary engine is so smooth, you don't feel like the engine's going to break apart on you like with the pistons.

Also, with the rotary engine, you feel the power coming all the way the redline and it feels like it would keep on giving more if it wasn't for fuel cut off. With other cars, even the high reving S2000, you get the power but it's more of a brutish force that dies off towards the end, it's not a consistant smooth flow of power. You just need to forget the numbers to really appreciate the engine.

yeah you are right. since i drove the RSX-s from a dealer, i didn't realy have any chance to toss it around. they didn't trust me for my age. lol .
the Rotary is smooth and sounds like a jet fighter. in most of times, i always keep my 8 under 3K RPM=save gas. i was terrified when i first got the car. my Night Kids was drinking gallons after gallons. that was very crazy. that was when i decided to keep the car under 3K RPM unless i am doing something.
hay don't forget, a normal inline four from the sentra SER feel smooth with power too. in other words, since the car has so little power, it feels smooth.

Please forgive me if I end up repeating alot of what has been posted in this thread for I have only read the first 2 pages.
I have also drivin' alot of pretty quick, zippy, head turning cars in my life but "straight out of the box" this one takes the cake. Does it burn alittle more gas? Yes, but we all knew that before we bought it didn't we? It's a sports car after all. Lag at high RPM'S? Please, Maybe you should be happy you have another 3000k to play with. I know when the guy in the car beside me is lookin' for his next gear, I'm just gettin' started.
I could spend all day argueing the facts but really....There is always going to be the " newest, greatest" thing. The F40 was top off the line 10 years ago but where does it stand today? If you want something better or more bang for your buck, start with a new job. Quit with the "always better on the other side of the fence" bulls*%t.
