It's $140 here: http://www.jt-imports.com/Mazda_RX8_JDM_Parts.htm

But I've seen it for around $80 or $90. They might be able to get this realtively inexpensive in the UK and Australia as I *believe* these keys come standard there.

check the europe section for accessory pics. it seems they can get the key there also. i think the one pictured was silver but i don't know if that was the only color to choose from or not.

Yeah Key that I was given when I test drove rather disappointed me. I was expecting it to live up to bowanna's riddle from a while back.

The KEYS dont come standard around here.

The key is CHEAP if you get just the key, with the case is quite a bit more.

So what exactly is it about the case that costs the set $70 more? It better do more than just hold the key...

Is a very nice look, would be nice to have more detailed information on the use of the case as if it had the ablity to open the doors such as witht he BMW 5 series where the key also unlocks, locks and can pop the trunk if i rember correctly from my friends, if the dealer did have the ablity to program the key in the states would be a cool little add on.

LOL, this key + the case ends up at £140, or about $230 in the UK from dealers.

This key is NOT standard, and is a complete ripoff - the case is £60, key £80. Plus you still need the bulky keyfob.

REad this thread guys... The J-spec key does not work with US-spec 8's. I know, I bought a key and a case...now I have a nice xmas tree ornament.

my10ae: Yes, I know that you stated that on another thread but a few orphan threads existed that had not been updated with that information... If someone who was interested in the key came to this thread first they may not have eventually found the final resolution...
