Rotors for sale?
Anybody know if you can buy a Renesis rotor? I think that would be an AWESOME addition to any desk/coffee table. Mazda probably doesn't make too many more than they need, but I would guess there's a scrap rate on the ones they produce- maybe some come out weighted wrong or something. They should see how much they can get on ebay for would-be-scrapped rotors. I'd definitely buy one.

Ebay sometimes has old cleaned up rotors for sale. I got one for something like $20 plus 8 for shipping. It makes a cool display.
I don't think it is necessary to get a Renesis rotor as only a real rotor head would be able to tell the difference. Just get a 13B rotor, some also sell rotor housings as well. Then you can set up a model in the living room and practice the fine art of making the rotor do the epitrochoid.

Cool, thanks for the info. Senseny, you're right- not many can probably tell the difference between engines, although I hear that RX-7 rotors sometimes had holes drilled after they were cast to correct for imbalances.

Not to mention a new rotor from Mazda will set you back quite a bit - at least $300-400.
I had a batch of dead/bad rotors I painted and sold a while back to RX-7 guys. They're sweet for displays.

Ricer is Nicer.....
Atkins....
Good place to pick one up is Atkins Rotary
(www.atkinsrotary.com)
I think they are $45 a set, and for another $15, they can put a nice clock in the rotor!
Makes a good display of the principals.

Doctorr - Do you know if the display demo sold at Atkins is made from actual parts, or is it a plastic copy? I couldn't tell from the description, although it sounds like they're real. Do you have one?

Rotary Abuser
Or.... You can do what i did and grab a motor from an old RX7 at the junk yard. This way you will have 2 rotors, 2 housings and an e-shaft.
