RPM of Renesis

I have heard various comments on the actual rpm of the renesis/actual ignition fires, etc.

But what I am curious about is:

Is the flywheel rpm going to match the tachometer?

Yes....What you probably heard was the rotors are 1 cycle to 3 cycles of the crank.

The Eccentric shaft is the measuring factor of your RPMs. Every one revolution of the Rotor is 3 rotations of the eccentric shaft.

The the tachometer is run by the Eccentric Shaft Position Sensor. So yes the flywheel speed is the same as what the tachometer is displaying.

oh forgot about the Op as other said yes flywheel rpm=eccentric shaft rpm...

so at 9000 rpm the rotor is technically spinning at 3000rpm....

Then, why don't the rpm gauge just max out at 3000. This is like those japanese motorcycles that show higher rpm than actual.

piston car rpm=crankshaft rpm
rotary car rpm=ecc. shaft rpm

it's measuring the rotationi of the engine which is crankshaft/ecc. shaft

So the piston is really gauge / 2, and renesis is gauge / 3 huh.

The flywheel rpm is what ultimately matters. That is what connects the motor to the clutch/transmission/wheels. apparently, on both piston and rotory cars, the tachometer matches the flywheel rpm, so there would not be any sense in making the rx8 tach show 3000, because the flywheel really IS going at 9000 rpm.

If the rx8 was at only 3000 rpm, there is no way 159 pound feet of torque would get 232 bhp; in fact, it would be impossible to even get 159 bhp, sense bhp and torque are always identical at 5252 rpm, and below that, torque is always more.
