Good one; I get this all the time. On this crappy loaner Intepid I'm driving (with the '8 in the shop) it's got as many steering wheel buttons as the '8, on both the right hand and left hand, and they're all for cruise control. I can't imagine how they take like 8 buttons to make cruise work. And with all that, there's no room left on the wheel for audio control. In-freakin'-credible.

It would be great cuz I'd like to see if I get 16.5 mpg in another '8 like I do with mine. And yes, BMW owners also drive the same crummy loaners. My wife has a beemer and I've been stuck in something like an escort when her car was in for service.

One nice thing about getting an Audi, at least from the dealer near me, is that ALL loaners are Audis, not crappy econoboxes. Hardly a deciding factor in buying a car, but I thought it was a nice touch.

When I started looking at buying a new car I had a long list......drove them all...is 300, 325/330i, Z, RSX type s, ect...... none were even close after I drove the 8 the rest were just a waste of time..............Then when I get in the wifes sequoia I feel like I am in a bus........Hate it when she wants to drive my car.....

There is an easy solution. Find a wife that doesn't drive stick, and buy stick. Worked for me! :D

Sorry for recycling the (relatively) old thread, but I was referred here by wannabe's new thread.

Same with Lexus (at least locally). Just part of their excellent customer service - and I have NO affiliation with them, just love everything about them (except their price).

While our new car was being "adjusted," got a GS 300 to use, and when someone bought it from under us, an RX 330. Nice.

lol, my link worked. I wish Mazda would loan us '8s while ours are being repaired. I'd like to compare the feel of other '8s to mine someday.

Have been borrowing dad's Chevy Z71 to ride the 4-wheeler, and I can't stand the way it floats on the highway, takes steering input like a suggestion, brakes like it has 10,000 lbs behind it. I breath a sigh of relief when I get back into my wonderful 8. Won't be able to have anything slower.
Hey w2aew!! I drive a 75 Triumph Spitfire with a GT6 motor and toyota 5speed. Sometimes you still can't beat the convertible! Only car I can stand driving.
By the way, I have always gotten a loaded Mazda 6 as a loaner. Too bad I didn't get an 8 like others have.
